Earthquakes and accidents resulted in broken porcelain and statuaries. Memories were saved in a box for years. Then a home away from home was purchased and the shattered pieces could become whole new memories. Among the remnants was a beautiful china mezuzah. Since this was a Jewish home, it seemed fitting for the mezuzah to be the first piece placed on the wood base. The blessing was recited as the mezuzah (a reminder of the presence of G-D) was carefully cemented onto the upper right side of the mirror frame. Many other precious fragments collaborated to form a piece of art that today, inspires conversation and storytelling.
